You didn't say whether you agreed or not with the 'disengagement' from Gaza. If so, you should have participated in the chain whether you felt 'connected' or not to the people who were there. Sometimes, I don't particularly 'fit in' with a group but agree with the overall goal. I have to put my personal comfort aside because of the more important principle at stake. If, on the other hand, you are in favour of removing Israeli Jews from 'occupied territories' for the sake of peace, as an activist you should have let those human chain types know!

I will answer your comment - If I knew it really would bring peace - then by all means I am for disengagement. Peace before land. However, I don't think it will bring peace because of all the bad history between the people and the fact that not too many bridges are being built so we can heal together. In my ideal world, in my ideal vision, Jews and Palestinians can live anywhere they want, anywhere they feel is home. If I would want to live in Jericho I should be able to, if a Palestinian would want to live in W. Jerusalem, they should be allowed. If you look at the map of Palestine, as I did in the Nablus refugee camp, it looks exactly like Israel! It is not only the West Bank and Gaza. So obviously we both want the same thing. Let's do it together.
